TRANSCENDING THE INDUSTRY

The Houston190 project will provide on-the-job training and hands-on experience in the production of large-scale public art for individuals participating in the UpRise Enterprise program of Career & Recovery Resources.

Through this initiative, participants will gain practical skills in mosaic design, tile setting, mural production, and creative collaboration. The project serves as a platform for workforce development by offering real-world exposure to the tools, techniques, and teamwork required in the creative economy.

Participants will work alongside professional artists, contributing to a legacy project that celebrates Houston’s 190th birthday. By turning artistic expression into a pathway for economic opportunity, Houston190 empowers individuals on their journey from recovery to self-sufficiency.
